My Eyelash Perming Experience and Results

Eyelash curlers; I've used loads over the years from a 99p one from Woolworths to a high end at £18. Have they worked? Yes, for a few hours and then back to straight lashes again ~ bugger! And another thing was that I was starting to not have time to stand there for 30 seconds with a toddler running around and turning the bath taps on! I didn't do it everyday, but mostly if I was going out and wanted my eyes to look big.
So I decided to get them permed as this would be low maintenance.
I'd had it done a few years ago and wasn't really happy with the end result, so that put me off having my lashes permed again.
My hairdresser has really long upwards lashes and when I was at the salon I just asked her if they were permed, no she said! Lucky woman.
After having my hair cut I had a patch test on my wrist to check for any sensitivities, and booked to have it done with the salon beauty therapist a few days later.

The whole process took about an hour and you can read about the process here.
I had medium size rods as I wanted a gentle curl and I didn't want the 'tightness' that I'd had before at another beauty salon, where small rods were used and my lashes literally curled back on themselves and my eyes felt like they were pinned open; not nice. This time I was very happy with the results and my lashes are still upwards and natural looking.

It cost me £20 which I thought was a good price and should last about 6 weeks.
I would actually have it done again once my lashes become straight but wouldn't book it in advance at every appointment, just when I feel like having it done.
Have you had this done? Leave a comment.

Tropic Body Love Review

Hi Everyone.
I hope that you are enjoying the warmer weather (if you are in the UK) even though it is in dribs and drabs!

A few week ago I blogged about my experience of a Tropic Skin Care party here, and I mentioned that I bought the Body Love Butter Cream.
Body Love Butter Cream | 100ml
Well I can honestly say that I absolutely love this product.  As soon as I apply it to the skin it just sinks in evenly and the fragrance of the lemon myrtle hits my nose and makes me feel clean and fresh.
I have even substituted it for a daily hand cream and apply to my dry heels at night when I finally get to put my feet up.
I bought the 100ml size and although you don't need a lot I think it won't last too long as I'm using so much.
Would I buy it again? Yes. A great, fresh product and looks nice on the bathroom counter too!

Best Friends Birthday Gifts

I love birthdays! Whether it's my own or someone else's, I just love them.
The best thing about someone else's birthday is going to buy them gifts and buying something for them that they may not necessarily choose for themselves.
Mid May was my best friend's birthday.

We've been friends since we met at University in 2001 and we know each other inside out from music, films, style and emotions. We've been bridesmaids for each other and our daughters were born 3 weeks apart. I am Godmother to her son. I am blessed she is in my life.

When it comes to our birthdays (and Christmas) we like to get a mixture of gifts and this year was the same.
We are both very homely and have a colour theme in our kitchens, mine being sage green and hers being red.
The pegs, paper straws, cake cases, memo pad and stickers I bought were from dotcomgiftshop. Such a lovely range of gifts and homeware, I spend hours on this site.
The Yankee Candle was from my local gift shop, the socks from Dorothy Perkins and the flip flops from Roxy.

The lovely wooden bunting was from eBay and a bracelet was from Accessorize, which was wrapped in the shop.

It was a very quiet birthday for her this year as she was working nights but her family and friends made it special for her as she is truly loved by all who know her.
She has got me through some very dark and tough times and that for me is true friendship.

Happy Birthday Sharon!
I love you to bits.
